Gdańsk
Once a key member of the Hanseatic League, Gdansk was a free city for a long time, where Prussian and Polish influences mixed together. Now, and then, it was considered as one of the most beautiful Baltic Cities. The Solidarity movement, which brought the end of communism, was born in this very city, with Lech Wałęsa as the leader. The European Solidarity Centre not only explains the historic aspects of the solidarity movement but helps to make you “feel” what happened.
In August, you can come to St. Dominic’s fair which is similar to Weihnachtsmarkt and Oktoberfest when it comes to both the size and popularity. We can’t forget about Baltic gold – Amber. Beautiful amber jewellery make the perfect souvenir to remember this great city by. All of these give Gdańsk a place among top 20 Best European Destinations for 2017.

Sopot
First of all there is the wooden pier, the longest in Europe. This beautifully situated seaside resort is well-known also thanks to the legendary music festival held in Forest Opera.
Gdynia
It is the only city in Poland and one of the few in Europe to pride itself on such long and accessible seashore. In the harbour there are two museum ships anchored, the ORP 0Błyskawica destroyer and the Dar Pomorza Tall Ship frigate.
Westerplatte Peninsula
This is the place where World War II started. It has become a Polish symbol of resistance – a small crew (205 soldiers and civilians) of Military Transit Depot was supposed to defend the facility for 12 hours in case of a war break, but they were able to stop the Nazi offensive (2,500 soldiers) from land, water and air for 7 days.
Hel Peninsula
A magnificent 35 km sandbar on a Baltic Sea is the most characteristic point on the map of Poland. Beautiful sandy beaches, traditional fishermen’s houses and cosy bars make Hel a perfect place for fun and rest.
Malbork Castle
The Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork is the largest castle in the world measured by land area, posted on UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in the 13th century, the castle is a classic example of a medieval fortress.
Elbląg-Ostróda Canal
Recognised as one of the 7 wonders of Poland, the canal is a unique hydro-engineering. It uses 5 ramps and has the level difference of almost 100m.
Toruń
Often named the Pearl of the North, Toruń is a beautiful city with the biggest number (after Kraków) of authentic works of Gothic art and architecture. It was also home of Nicolaus Copernicus.
